You’re welcome to arrive at the workshop any time between 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM. (1.5 hrs.)

When you arrive, you’ll choose which visible mending activities you’d like to try.

This $5 fee secures your spot at the workstation (to control the number of attendees).
It will be credited toward any activity you choose during the workshop.

Visible Mending Activities You Can Try
Price range: $15–25 per activity.
Choose 1–2 activities depending on your pace and interest.

Simple Darning – Learn basket stitch with wool, perfect for repairing small holes or worn spots

Visible Patching with Hand Stitching – Add strength and character to your garments (or use our sewing service)

Collage-Style Patches – Create your own fabric patch and sew it by hand or have it sewn for you

Fabric Bead Necklace – A fun, beginner-friendly project using 7–8 handmade fabric beads

No problem — we’ll have a variety of cotton bags available for purchase, perfect for decorating or practicing your mending skills!

1. Simple Darning (basket stitch with wool) Perfect for small holes or worn areas. For example:

4 square of 3x3cm size

2 square of 10 cm × 10 cm size
Includes step-by-step explanation and guide. Fee: $25

2. Visible Patching

Use printed fabrics, pockets, frills, and more to add charm and strength to your garment. Fee: $15

Choose 3–5 small patches (may with conditions)

Includes hand stitching support

Sewing service (+$15) available

3. Collage-Style Patches Create a custom patch on a 10 cm × 10 cm or 20 cm × 20 cm base fabric using scrap fabric pieces. Fee: $15 or 25

Hand stitch it yourself, or use the sewing service (+$15)

4. One-of-a-Kind Fabric Bead Necklace Choose from many fabric bead designs to create your own necklace (7–9 beads). Fee: $22

REVIVE & REPAIR — Visible Mending Workstation

Repair and revive your damaged items using visible mending techniques!

Date: Monday, August 25

Time: 5:30–8:30 PM

1.5 hour sessions × 2 rounds

- 5:30pm -7pm or

- 7pm - 8:30pm

Location: Little Fernwood Storefront Studio (1923 Fernwood Road)

Registration fee: $5 (secures your spot and will be credited toward any activity you choose at the workshop)

For ages 12 and up | Wheelchair accessible | Basic sewing knowledge preferred

Children under 12 are welcome, but must be supervised by an adult.

About This Workshop

This is a self-guided workstation, not a formal class. I will offer a quick demo of basic visible mending techniques and support you while you work on your own item. You're free to create at your own pace.

No item to repair? No problem! We’ll have a selection of cotton bags for purchase so you can still enjoy visible mending practice.
